Poet Tree

AnEver Poem

A love turned to Guilt--
It eats you from within.
From the cold you were told
How warm things could’ve been.
All that’s real is lost;
Your heart is merely frost.
The way you feel is just until
We find out how this ends.

Can we last for anever;
Will we feel this way always?
Am I all that you need
And everything that you bleed?
Can we last for anever
When your heart’s not here anyway?
Make it last, make it last--
I find we’re failing fast.

The last spark flickers out
A the mention of your sin.
In the embers you remember
How things might’ve been.
You lay without a sound
Afraid to tread this ground.
Life takes it’s toll
Upon your soul
And everything we lived.
